LCC Wai`anae Staff - Emi, Erica, William, and Walterbea | Leeward Community College Wai`anae (LCCW) is located on the beautiful Wai`anae coast of Oahu. It offers Wai`anae Coast residents a variety of first and second year college credit classes in liberal arts, business, and career and technical areas. Courses are offered days and evenings, and Saturdays. Non-credit courses are also offered at various times throughout the year. Application and Registration
| Prospective students may obtain the UH System Common Application Form from our website (http://www.leeward.hawaii.edu), or from LCCW. Applications can be mailed directly to Leeward Community College (see address below) or submitted to the LCCW office. A current copy of your tuberculosis test is required. Learning Resource Center
| The center provides free one-on-one tutorial assistance to registered students in several subject areas, including reading, writing, math, and computer programs. Select library materials and other types of resources are also available for students to check out or use in the LRC. The center is equipped with learning assistive technology to aid students who have various learning challenges. The LRC administers COMPASS placement testing, as well as proctoring for system-wide WEB-CT and traditional course tests. Free handouts are available on various topics such as handling test anxiety, taking notes, and study techniques. Various learning skills workshops are offered to the students throughout the year. | ![]() |
INPEACE - Ka Lama Education Academy
The Ka Lama Education Academy was designed to improve public school education on the Wai`anae Coast of O`ahu by recruiting and training local residents that are committed to the community. The Academy assists community residents interested in becoming teachers to obtain their Associate’s degree and gain admittance to teacher education programs in Hawai`i. Leeward Coast residents interested in pursuing a degree in education can contact the Academy directly at 696-8312 or 696-6378 ext. 108 to set an appointment with a community counselor.
Wai'anae Health Academy
The Academy offers outreach, training, referral and counseling service to Wai'anae coast residents interested in employment in the Health Care fields, with programs of study that lead to a degree or certificate and specialized courses that are of interest to the community. Programs include: Nursing Assistant, Medical Assisting, and Community Heath Worker Programs. Call the Academy at 696-3155 for more information.
Wai'anae Maritime Academy
The Wai'anae Maritime Academy, located at LCCW, trains students for entry-level positions as mariners, and features deck, engineering or steward career tracks. The program weaves in curriculum from the ancient voyaging traditions to the modern practical knowledge required of merchant mariners in today’s industry.
