In the past it was common for scholars to spend time
browsing through libraries for books and journal articles of
interest. They would then retire to a comfortable reading room to
study their finds. Thanks to the wonders of technology we are able
to provide you with a similar experience.
As the Internet evolves the number of books and journals available
on-line steadily increases. Below you will find links that allow you
to access many of these valuable information sources.
So, pull up a comfortable chair at home, turn on your laptop
computer, select some classical music for your MP3 player, and enjoy
your time in our Electronic Reading Room.
HighWire
HighWire Press at Stanford University develops and maintains the Web
versions of important journals in biomedicine and other disciplines.
This section provides access to over 400,000 full text articles.
Electronic Journal Miner
The
Electronic Journal Access Project is part of a development effort by
the nonprofit Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries (The
Alliance). This site primarily includes ejournal sites as they are
offered by the publisher. There has been no attempt in this product
to provide any evaluation of the titles in terms of content or
quality. However, a unit record for each title must be viewed before
launching to a title of interest which will provide some information
about scope and content.
U.H. Link to Electronic journals
By
searching the Electronic Serials page of Hamilton Library you can
access these journals. Begin by selecting a subject of interest. On
your Internet browser choose the "Edit" option. Choose "Find" from
the list and enter "free". This will show you which of the listed
journals you can access without a U.H. Manoa ID.
