SMARTHINKING Online Tutoring Service Now Available

SMARTHINKING, a commercial online tutoring service, is now available to all LCC students. To sign on and begin using the service, students can link to LCC's "etutor" page directly from this link or from any of the following LCC websites:

In addition to a sign-in link and instructions, the etutor page includes information on the hours the services are available and the subjects offered. Available subjects include:

Students who need assistance in accessing SMARTHINKING can ask for help from staff members in the LRC or the Math Lab, or from Emi Chang at LCC-Wai'anae.

Please note that SMARTHINKING online tutoring is intended to provide an additional support option for students; it does not replace existing tutoring services offered through the Learning Resource Center or Math Lab.

Faculty evaluation accounts: Faculty members who are interested in trying out the service can get a faculty evaluation account that's good for an hour's worth of tutoring. To get one, contact Beth Kupper-Herr at ext. 413 or bethkh@hawaii.edu. Faculty who would like to have an orientation session by phone with a SMARTHINKING representative should contact Beth.

SMARTHINKING services are being funded through LCC's Title III grant. The planning and implementation of this service at LCC has been a collaborative effort involving many people, including Randy Araki, Kaz Chambers, Emi Chang, Leanne Chun, Beth Kupper-Herr, Laurie Kuribayashi, Jim Ogg, Penny Uyehara, and Greg Walker.
